Scammers are sending out fake "British Gas Eligible For an Over-Payment Refund" emails like the one below. The fake emails are phishing scam that contains links to fake and cloned British Gas websites. Now, any attempts to sign into the fake websites will result in the visitors' account credentials being sent to the cybercriminals. Once the cybercriminals have gotten the stolen credentials, they will gain access to the accounts and use them fraudulently. Therefore, British Gas customers who have already been tricked by the phishing scam are asked to change their password and contact British Gas for help.
