"Mr. Anonymous Mega Millions Jackpot Donation" Scam
There are lottery scammers using several social media and email scams like the one below to impersonate Mr. Anonymous, a South Carolina resident who won $1.5 billion in the Mega Millions jackpot last October, to obtain personal financial information from individuals. Mr. Anonymous, stepped forward to claim the lottery prize but elected to remain anonymous, is not giving away money to randomly selected people around the world.
Remember, once you are asked to send money in order to receive a donation or lottery prize, it is scammers or thieves attempting to trick you into sending them your money.
