"Yahoo ATT Account Class Action Settlement" Scam Emails
Yahoo users are asked to be careful of fake class action settlement emails like the one below. The fake emails are being sent by cybercriminals who are attempting to trick potential victims into clicking on a link in the fake emails which go to a phishing website. The phishing website, which looks like the legit Yahoo website, will ask visitors to sign-in. But, any attempt to sign-in will result in the visitors account credentials being sent to the cybercriminals.
Once the cybercriminals have gotten the stolen credentials, they will use it to hijack their victims' account and use them fraudulently. Therefore, Yahoo users who think they may have been tricked by a fake email are asked to change their password immediately.
