X Guard Subscription Scam Text Message
I just got the "X Guard Subscription" text below, which claims I should call Apple Support Team at 1-888-939-6991 if I didn't place the order. So, I called the telephone number from a different phone. They wanted to know the exact time I got a text. When I told them how do you know I got a text, they hang up. I called again and asked what department I was talking to, they said Apple Support Tech department. Total scam, 1-888-939-6991 is not an Apple Customer or Technical Support number, therefore, recipients of fake text messages or calls asking them to call the same number, should not.

If potential victims call the number, they will be asked for account credentials, which you should never give out, personal and financial information. The scammers may even ask potential victims to give them access to their computers.
