Westpac Scam Text - Restricted Your Services And Restore Account

If you have received the scam text message below purporting to be from Westpac, please do not follow the instructions in it. This is because the scam text, which claims recipients should confirm their details by clicking the link in it, is being sent by cybercriminals and not Westpac. The link in the fake text goes to a phishing website that steals account credentials, personal and financial information.

"Westpac: For security concerns we have restricted your services. To fully restore your account visit [website address] to confirm your device."

The link in the fake text or SMS redirects to this phishing website: hxxps://wpb.mobile-device.app/, which ask for account information. If the requested information is submitted on the same phishing website, it will sent to the cybercriminals behind the scam, who will use it fraudulently. Therefore, if you have been tricked by the scam text, please contact Westpac for help.
