Fashion Nova Gift Card Scam Settlement with the FTC

The FTC is sending a second round of payments as the result of a settlement between the FTC and online fashion retailer Fashion Nova, to customers who got gift cards instead of refunds. According to the FTC, when the company didn't ship merchandise in a timely manner, it failed to notify customers properly, didn't offer customers the option to cancel their orders, and illegally issued gift cards to compensate customers for unshipped merchandise instead of providing refunds.

The FTC first sent settlement payments in March 2021. Because there is still money in the fund, the agency is sending an additional 290,460 PayPal payments and 12,407 checks totaling more than $2.8 million to people who previously received a payment.

If you get a PayPal payment, you have 30 days to accept it.

If you get a check, you have 90 days to cash it.

The FTC provides answers to common questions about refund payments on our FAQ page. If you have any other questions, please call the refund administrator at 1-866-483-0376.
