Instagram Login Email Scam Hijacking Accounts

Online scammers are sending out "Instagram Login" email scams to potential victims with links that go to fake and phishing websites that steal account credentials if recipients attempt to sign into them. Therefore, it is recommended that Instagrammers sign into their accounts using the Instagram app or go directly to instagram.com in their web browser and sign in from there, instead of clicking a suspicious link.

If you click the link in the scams, but didn't attempt to sign into the fake or phishing website that you were taken to, you have nothing to worry about. But, if you clicked the link and attempted to sign into the website you were taken to, then your Instagram account may have gotten hijacked and used fraudulently. This may result in your Instagram account getting suspended. Therefore, change or reset your Instagram password as soon as possible.
