The email message below: "Virgin Media Automated Billing Reminder," is a phishing scam and was not sent by Virgin Media. The spoofed email message contains a link to a fake or phishing Virgin Media website that will ask you to update your personal, credit card, and other financial information, that the scammers behind the fake and phishing email message need in order to rip you off.

Virgin Media Automated Billing ReminderThis e-mail has been sent you by Virgin Media to inform you that we were unable to process your most recent payment of bill. This might be due to one of the following reasons:
A recent change in your personal information such as Name or address.
Your Credit or Debit card has expired.
Insufficient funds in your account.
Cancellation of Direct Debit agreement.
Your Card issuer did not authorize this transaction.
To avoid Service interruption you will need to update your billing profile, failure to update your profile may lead in service cancellation and termination.

Remember, although the email message appeared as if it came from a Virgin Media email address, it was not. This email address was spoofed, meaning it was not sent from a Virgin Media email address, but from some other email account by cyber-criminals.
