The USAA email message below: "USAA : Account on Hold: Response Required," was not sent by USAA and is a phishing scam created by cyber-criminals to trick USSA customers into entering their user names and passwords on a fake USAA website, in an attempt to steal their potential victims' account credentials. So, do click on the link or follow the instructions in the email message.

Dear Customer,
Our records show that on 02/05/14, at 11:54 PM CT you accessed usaa.com and established or updated the following information:
Account Locked
Action is necessary unless this activity occurred without your knowledge or permission.
Please click here to unlock your account access.
Safeguarding your information is a priority for USAA. That's why we offer our members different levels of security to access accounts on usaa.com or mobile.usaa.com. Log on to usaa.com to choose the level that gives you the most peace of mind.

The link in this email message will take you to the following phishing or fake USAA website:
http://igebwayazwa.com/mkwawgy

This website was designed to look exactly like the USAA website, to trick potential victims of this phishing scam into entering their USAA banking sign-in or login information on it, thinking that they are on the legitimate USAA website located at www.usaa.com. If you enter your banking credentials on this bogus website, it will be sent to the scammers behind this website. With your banking credentials, these cybercriminals will be able to gain access to your USAA account.

If you were tricked into entering your USAA credentials on the fake website, please change your USAA password now. And, if you are unable to sign into your account, please contact USAA immediately.

This USAA phishing scam is similar to "Upgrade Your USAA Account”.
