Malicious Email - K&L Gates Debt Recovery Notification
Beware of the fake and malicious K&L Gates email message below, which claims that the recipients have unpaid utility bills and they will be evicted from their properties if they do not pay within 3 days. The email message was designed to trick and frighten the recipients into clicking on a malicious link within it, which will download a virus, Trojan horse or other malware on your computer.
The email message was not sent by K&L Gates, which is a US-based international law firm with offices in Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, South America, and the United States. It is the 8th largest law firm in the United States and the 11th largest among law firms worldwide.

Subject: K&L Gates Debt recovery notification
Final noticeHereby you are notified that you have unpaid utility bills and your debt amounts to $45 for August 21, 2014.
If you do not fulfill your debt-service obligations within three days in accordance with the applicable legislation, we will have to file actions with the court and apply enforcement options - in this case you can be evicted from the occupied territory (property rights termination).
We are asking you to pay the arrears as soon as possible! See further details here.
The link in the email message will take you to a malicious website, if you click it, which contains malicious programs that will infect your computer with a virus, Trojan horse or other malware.
Once your computer has become infected with malicious Trojan horse, the cybercriminals behind this email message will be able to access and take control of your computer remotely from anywhere around the world. They may spy on you, use your computer to commit cybercrimes, or steal your personal and financial information.
Now, if you have already clicked on the malicious link, downloaded and installed any program from the website, please do a full scan of your computer with the antivirus software installed on it.
