"dl.browsersafeupdate.com" - a Fake Website that Contains Viruses and Malware

The website: "dl.browsersafeupdate.com," contains malicious web browser updates, Toolbars, web browser extensions or plugins, Java updates, Web Players, and other malicious software updates, disguised as legitimate software. The malicious software were put on the malicious website by cyber-criminals to trick visitors to the website, into believing that they are receiving legitimate software updates. But, once visitors attempt to download and install the malicious software on the website, thinking the software are legitimate, their computers will get infected with a virus, Trojan horse or other malware.

Remember, if you are browsing the internet and you are taken to a website asking you to download security updates for your web browser or upgrade your web browser; please do not follow the instructions on the website, especially if you are taken to the malicious website: “dl.browsersafeupdate.com”. Your web browsers and other software on your computer will update themselves automatically.

The Fake and Malicious Website: “dl.browsersafeupdate.com”

Again, the cybercriminals behind the malicious website aim is to trick visitors into downloading and installing fake and malicious software disguised as legitimate software updates, which will infect their victims’ computers with a virus or Trojan horse. Once their computers have become infected with a Trojan horse or some other malware, the cybercriminals behind the website will be able to access and take control of their victims’ computers remotely from anywhere around the world. They may spy on them, use their computers to commit cyber-crimes, or steal their personal and financial information.
