AT&T Email Scam - "Account Termination Warning" From "www.att-verify.com"

The email message below: "Account Termination Warning‏," is another fake and phishing AT&T email message created by cyber-criminals to steal their potential victims' AT&T Online UserID, password, PIN, social security number, driver's license number and other personal information on the fake AT&T website: "att-verify.com". Once the cyber-criminals have the information, they will use it hijack the victims' accounts and use them fraudulently.

AT&T Online Service (Onlineaccess@ att.com)
Dear Customer,
This E-mail been sent to you by the AT&T Verification Team to inform you that your account will be deactivated within the next 24 hours due to several unsuccessful log in attempt on your AT&T online account.
To prevent this from happening please log in securely to our activation link below:
http://www.att.com/user/ member/verification/454323
For immediate access, please click here to validate your account:
if you have already confirmed your information then please disregard this message

The link in the fake email message goes to the fake AT&T website: "www.att-verify.com." The fake website looks exactly like the legitimate AT&T website: http://www.att.com/, but whatever you do, do not visit and enter your AT&T sign-in or personal information on the fake and malicious website. If you enter your information on it, it will be sent to the scammers behind the bogus website, who will use the information to gain access to your account and use it fraudently.

With access to your account, they may deactivate your device, add their own and rack up international calls and internet usage. They may also steal your identity. If you were tricked into entering your information on the fake and malicious website, please change your password and contact AT&T.

Remember, never click on a link to sign into or verify your AT&T account. Go directly to http://www.att.com/, and sign into your account instead. This will ensure that you are not taken to phishing website.
