Fraudulent Bank of America (BofA) Text Messages Sent By Scammers
Bank of America customers, if you have received SMS text messages, especially from vtext.com claiming that it is urgent that you call the telephone numbers in the messages, please do not follow the instructions in the messages, just delete them. The messages are fakes and are being sent by scammers to random telephone numbers, which the scammers hope will reach some Bank of America customers, in order to trick them into calling the telephone numbers in the messages. Calling the bogus telephone numbers will only connect the potential victims to an automated telephone system set up by the scammers, which will ask them to enter their credit card numbers, names, date of birth and even their security codes.
Once the victims have entered their information, it will be sent to the scammers behind the text messages, who will use it to rip the victims off.

Also, scammers may call and send text messages directing Bank of America customers to phishing websites in order to steal their personal and account information, or attempt to trick them into disclosing their account information over the phone.
Recipients of the fake Bank of America text messages are asked to call Bank of America directly at their offical telephone numbers to verify the authenticity of the text messages. And, victims of the fraudulent text messages are asked to contact Bank of America immediately.
