Metro Bank Scam Text - How to Protect Yourself

It does not matter how vigilant you are, you may fall victim to scams. When this happens, you can prevent further account damage by immediately taking steps like reporting the phishing incident to your bank and requesting to disable your debit/ATM cards and all e-channel accounts to block future fraudulent transactions. And, change your password, and constantly check your transaction history for unauthorized transactions.

How to Protect Yourself

Metrobank will NOT initiate calls, SMS, emails, or chats to ask for your bank account details. Therefore, never give away your personal or bank information to anyone. Responding to malicious emails or texts can get your account compromised. Don't share your bank account information, username, password, passcodes, One-Time Password (OTP), card expiry and CVV (3-digit value at the back of your card).

When in doubt, validate requests and offers by calling your branch or sending us a message via Metrobank's official Facebook page or @Metrobank Twitter account.
