The fake American Express message below, which appears to be from "noreply@mycredit-guide.americanexpress.com" and asking recipients to call 1-833-421-3385, is a scam. Scammers are using the message to frighten and trick potential victims into calling them at the fake American Express telephone number, which is linked to a call center operated by them.

The email address noreply@mycredit-guide.americanexpress.com is legitimate, but the scammers are spoofing the email address. This means they send the message from an account and change the "From" address to be make it appear as if it came from noreply@mycredit-guide.americanexpress.com.
