The link in the e-mail message goes to a fraudulent website looking exactly like Smile Bank's legitimate website located at http://www.smile.co.uk . On the fraudulent website, visitors will be asked to enter their banking information, credit card and personal information.

Phishing Smile Bank Website

The information submitted on the fraudulent website will be sent to the cybercriminals behind the phishing scam, who will use the stolen information to gain access to their potential victims' accounts, steal their money and use their accounts fraudulently.

This is why it is important that Smile Bank customers never click on a link to sign in their online accounts. They should instead, go directly to http://www.smile.co.uk and sign-in from there. By doing this, Smile Bank customers are ensuring that they are on their bank’s website and not on some phishing website impersonating it, created to steal their account credentials, personal and credit card information.

Once Smile Bank customers are on their bank’s website, they can sign-in from there. Any notices from Smile Bank will be posted in their accounts, or if their accounts are inaccessible, they should be notified on the same website and given instructions.
