A lot of persons who have looked to the internet for love, have been scammed. This form of scamming is usually done on social networking websites. A few days or weeks into the relationship, the scammer will ask for money to bury a loved one, help pay down on a house, help with college tuition and so forth. Most of the time, the naive victims will send thousands of dollars, probably to show how much they care.

Usually, by the time the victims are aware of the scam, they would have already sent thousands of dollars.

These scammers are very persuasive and are very good at what they do. It is alleged that most of these scammers are beautiful Russian girls, who swindle thousands from their victims.

If you meet someone online and that person starts asking for financial help, that should raise a red flag. Do not send the money you have worked so hard for, to someone who you have not met in person or someone who you do not know much about.
