Why is My Phone Calling Me? - Caller ID Spoofing Scams

Scammers have come up with new ways of trying to cheat persons out of their hard-earned money. They use caller ID spoofing technology to imitate the phone numbers of trusted local businesses, governments, neighbors and at times you!

Your phone rings and to your surprise, you notice on the caller ID it is your number that is calling you. You must be wondering to yourself what is happening. Scammers do this in the hope of you answering their calls. Upon answering you will hear a message from a computerized voice asking you to verify your credit card number for an opportunity to lower your credit card interest rates.

They also pretend to be technical support agents from Microsoft with the intention of selling computer solutions to help you.

Don’t be fooled by these monsters as your credit score will not be lowered or receive a solution for your computer.
