Take Note - Your Email Address Will be Terminated Now for Transmitting Viruses
The email message below: "Take note: Your email address will be terminated now," is fake and a phishing scam. The email message was sent by cyber-criminals to trick the recipients into clicking on the link within it in order to take them to fake or phishing website designed to steal their email address username and password, which they (cyber-criminals) will use to hijack their accounts.
The email message claims that the recipient's email address has been transmitting viruses to their servers and will be deactivated permanently if not resolved. But, no email address provider will ask your permission to scan and remove viruses from your account. They will automatically scan and remove viruses without your consent and interaction.

Your email address (removed) has been transmitting viruses to our servers and will be deactivated permanently if not resolved.
You are urgently required to sanitize your email or your access to email services will be terminated
Click here now to scan and sanitize your e-mail account
Note that failure to sanitize your email account immediately will lead to permanent deactivation without warning.
We are very sorry for the inconveniences this might have caused you and we assure you that everything will return to normal as soon as you have done the needful.

If you follow the instructions in the email message, you will be taken to a fake or phishing website and ask to sign-in with your email username and password in order to start the scan.
If you enter the requested information, it will be sent to the cybercriminals behind the scam. Once they have your email account credentials, they use it to hijack your account and use it for fraudulent purposes. This includes using your email address to send spam or malicious email messages.
If you have already followed the instructions in the email message and have entered your email account user name and password on the fake website, please change your email account's password immediately.
To avoid getting tricked by these phishing scams, never click on a link in an email message to sign into your account. Always go to your email account sign-in page (www.hotmail.com, www.gmail.com) and sign into your account from there. Your email account administrator will display important messages or notifications to you once you have signed into your account.
