7000 Dollars or 7K Government Grant Phone Scams

The frequency of these $7k for life scam calls have increased dramatically over the past couple of weeks. It’s gone from a few each week to at least three every day. Most annoying!

Every day I get 2-3 sometimes 5-8 calls from the 202 $7000 scam. How can they be blocked since there re many different numbers that are used for the 202 code?

Same recording: one day from Georgia, next day from Colorado. Why would a recording "call" a stranger? There's a special place in h**l for these losers. It goes to voice mail, then I dump it.

what about this number 2068800308 because I had a call from that number yesterday and that I had to do all this, and that and will be getting 7,200 if I paid the fee...

It is a scam. Once you are asked to pay money.

First number call me 2020779898 said I could get a 7000 grant. Then I had to call 2012830985, he told me I needed a activation card. When I get to store , it's a iTunes card, I hung up, it's a scam

Just received a phone call saying I received a $7000 grant. Gave me a I’d #. Told me to go to the nearest location and then call them when I got there. The number I was supposed to call back was 914-340-4476. The number that initially called me was 202-187-3851.

Just received a call on this scam from 202-869-4158. I was given a grant approval id# and where to go for my grant & who to call. Call 914-340-4476 for the senior financial advisor and collect my $7000 grant.

I have received 6 calls today from a New York number and New Mexico. They have cussed me today because I was rude and sarcastic.

I get these 3-4 times a week...Yesterday I told the guy "you mean I am getting another one" and he said oh no I just need to verify your info and I told him that I received the money on my account a week ago...He started stammering and hung up...Much fun to jack with them

I received a call yesterday from a woman quoting an 8700 dollar grant and today's call was for a 7000 dollar grant. When I repeated over and over, "I'll take that in a cashier's check" they hung up. Kept him on the phone asking questions so that he would lose time. He just kept reading a script, repeating what he had already said. Can be quite entertaining if you don't fall for it.

Received a government grant scam call today from 202-863-4336. Man with a foreign accent, perhaps Filipino, calls me around 3:00 pm (about 20 minutes ago) from this number and proceeds to nervously read from a script as he tells me that I am the lucky recipient of a grant from the U.S. government in the amount of $9000, and that my number was chosen at random, . I just kept listening to him fumble with his words for about 30 seconds or so. Suddenly he stopped talking about the grant I was supposed to receive, and now he suddenly starts saying "F*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you", and needless to say, it shocked the h**l out of me. I hung up. While I was writing this he actually called my number again. I have placed this number on my blocked numbers now. Unbelievable. I would love to see this guy be prosecuted for conducting such a call with such behavior.

202-851-5890 - they said I have 8530 bucks coming to me.

The lady called from 206-472-6032, she was foreign and could hardly speak English and get this her name was Karen and she sounded East Indian and said I was awarded a $7000 Grant and give me a code to use and ask for a $150 processing fee. Hope this helps.

I have received the same call and asked to pay a $300 fee to register with the federal reserve bank and the phone numbers are 253-275-3460 as well as 202-339-8677

I know this post is a few years old but I googled it because I just got a call like this. The guy sounded like he was foreign but had been living in the states for a while so the accent was slight. The call was from a private number and he stated he didn't have any information about how much it cost as he was just providing the initial information and would connect me to someone else if I were interested. The whole thing was weird and obviously a scam. Since when is the government awarding hard working people like myself?!

The phone number they called me to try this scam was 1347-773-0534; I was then asked to call a seperate number for processing which is where I was informed I would be required to purchase an itunes gift card in order to receive free government grant funds.

If not for the guy trying to convince me that he COULDN'T do anything to the funds on the tunes card I might have fell for it. He over sold it. Bunch of asian sounding guys with phony names like David Johnson and Bryan William. Be ware!

I received this scam call today, 1/28/17. The idiot actually thouhgt I would be willing to purchase an itunes gift card of $250 and give him the Activation number on the card in order to receive a free grant. Once I was informed of the $250 itunes card deposit required, I knew it was a scam. If the government wanted to give me money, they would simply mail it to me, period.

Received call from 202-534-3931. Person told me that my name was selected to receive a $7000 government grant that I could use for home improvements education or any good deed. I was to call this number 202-754-8270 and give them my confirmation number PM869.

The Federal Grants department called me to let me know that I would be getting a free federal grant for the amount of $7000.00 and that I would not have to pay back. The number they called me from was 1-202-754-8219.

I did not give them any information, I just hung my phone up and tried to call them back,for which I got a recording
stating that the number was no longer in service. Beware people there is a lot of scam artists out there.

It's a scam people. They almost has me until they wanted me to send money!

Got several calls from two people calling from an unknown number and 357-892-3420. The two male callers spoke poor English. Claimed they called from Federal Grant Office, with free grants in thousands waiting for me. I knew it was scam. They would not give Federal Employee IDs when I asked them to provide. I yelled and cursed at them and told them to stop doing it. Also told them I would report them and have them hunt down. Well, They called to my mobile number and knew my First and Last name. This part scares me. How do they get my cell number and full name?

Scammers get most of their potential victims' information from the potential victims themselves, using phishing scams. Phishing scams are used by scammers to trick potential victims into sending them their personal information or submit it via a webpage form.

They are calling from the following numbers: 18001020306 and 3606165107. Low lifes; it is a scam.

Yep, they called me yesterday... I qualify for a 7000 dollar grant. the government has picked my phone number.. and I dont have to pay them back. I asked what the catch was.. klick they were gone.. just like that poof.. gone.

"Repeated calls about a 7500 government bonus because I have no criminal record or filed bankruptcy. They asked how I wanted to receive the money, I said Walmart, the woman then said I need to pay 250.00 for a processing fee. The number they called me from numerous of times is 206-472-6025, and I was asked to call 425-245-5109. Scam artist."

"I just got the same call, caller from 357-892-3420 and 202-415-6632 (called twice) told me I was selected to receive $7K. told me to call 202-854-8359 to set up a location to receive the money. gave me a confirmation of BS-107, yea BS. Could collect from western union, Walgreen's etc. I have no intention to call these cronies. The caller was a Eastern Indian sounding voice. James"

I had the same called from the same number and I research info about these types of calls and came across the comment with the same information of the number and the exact description of the man that call me too.

"I were contacted today Nov 07 from a scammer representing the U.S.Federal Grant and Treasuray Dept. stating that the government had awarded me $9,200.00 tax free because paying taxes annually so this is a one time allocated amount to random citizens and I will receive the money from the Federal Reserve Bank in secure form of my choice through Western union Money Graham, Prepaid Debit, iTunes,or savings account for processing fees these were couple of no's they called from 202-657-6837 202-568-5894 beware of these scams this information OTA was a great help and eye opener. "

Lol crazy !!I knew It sound to GOOD to be true. I just got a call from a 202-507-9177 saying I could get $6000 something by one guy and then he gave me a 206-472-6028 number to call and when I got off the phone with him that number 206-427-6028 called B4 I got to deal the number and some girl saying now its $7000 but I have to pay 250 to a Western Union. Hella No doubt do it NOTHING IS FREE IN THE WORLD.

7000 grant scam. Numbers they called from are: 202-569-8365 and 202-566-7201.

I just got a call from a scammer saying I have been awarded a $7000 government grant. They had my phone number and first name but not my last. I wouldn't give them the info they wanted, told them they sounded like scammers and they gave me a phone number to call back and claim my grant. The number is: 202-618-0725.

These people started harassing me, called me as an unknown number and restricted then when I had enough. I answered so the told me to call that 844 number and to call right when I got off the phone but I will not; s***w the scammers.

Just recieved a call about a $9000 grant that I qualified to get. They said to call this number back right away....8443343245. I was suspicious and decided to look it up on the internet and found this site

Original call came from 862-231-2552 in New Jersey, to verify my availability, and to call 844-334-3245 my ID code was CV491 and the contact person was Vain Michales.

Just got a call from a private number stating that I was eligible for a 7,000 dollar grant. Let them go through their act, gave me another number to call 844 334 3245 told me I needed to buy a 250 dollar apple iTunes card for the processing fee, and that my money would be sent via Moneygram or Western Union.

I have received the same phone call and so have several of my friends. I just hang up.

Received private call stating that I was selected out of 1500 people to receive 7k. I asked him who or how my name and number were selected. He became pushy when I kept asking him to repeat himself. First of all I've worked for the gov't in the Army so I doubt they knew I could smell BS. I Then told him to give it to someone who needs it most.

This M**O tells me, well you can revive it and give it to someone. So with all these reasons, I told him it felt like a scam and wasn't interested and to delete my name from further "gov't grants". These fools think their smart, ha. Its been proven that in the Army, the Infantry has the highest test scores to be an infantryman, because you have to problem solve on the spot read people and anticipate the enemy's movement in order to complete the mission.

202-856-6239 is another good spam number. The guy on a return line told me to call, 202-883-4312; got very mad when I told him the loopholes in his "grant".told me to go f**k myself. Ha!

Got the same scam from 202-914-236 which is a weird number I know.

I just got a call for the same thing from the number 18004229178; beware!

I got a call from a lady with very heavy accent, claiming that I have received a Government grant for 7k. She said she works with government in Washington DC and her name is Sylvia Hallis, oh it's Harris.

She ask me where do I want my money to be sent: bank, card or MoneyGram, so I choose MoneyGram, then she gave me this number to call back: 239-244-2351. First I Google the number for a scam and it came back that the area code is from Florida. Coincidentally she called me back so I told her that the area code you give me is from Florida, then she said blah blah blah, I'm not gonna force you,and she hurriedly wanna end our conversation.

Just right I told her that I'm calling, you know so. I did call her from my work phone but I got no answer. The scary part is that she knows all my info like name, address, and cell#. Just be careful guys.
