Total Wipeout Tour Events on Facebook are Like-Farming Scams

Facebook users are being warned NOT to join, share or invite their friends to the "Total Wipeout Tour" events that promise those who sign up, the chance to take part in a "series of challenges" like those on the hit BBC TV game show, Total Wipeout, across 40 towns and cities in the United Kingdom. This is because the events, which state: "Have you ever wanted to take part in a serious of challenges like you may have seen on Total Wipeout," are like-farming or data-mining scams that have been created by scammers, and have nothing do with the BBC TV show. Facebook users who sign-up for the event scams, will run the risk of, scammers collecting and using their publicly available Facebook information in other scams, or being placed on spamming lists. The "Total Wipeout Tour" is scam is similar to the "SLIDE 'N' FLY" event scam that was posted on Facebook in August 2015.
