"HSBC Safeguard Action Required" Phishing Email
an anonymous user from: Opelousas, Louisiana, United States

First, I was contacted by this guy.
He said, he wanted to send me $25,000 to come visit me on vacation.
Then, I got a email from HSBC bank, asking for a code. This guy just happened to have the code handy.
I found that odd. I just played along, I entered this code.
Well, then I was told that I had to go to one of the HSBC,US branches and bring $550. Well, there isn't one in the state of Louisiana.
Once I found this out, I really got suspicious.
The bank told me to Western Union them the money.

Received a couple of these emails now. Usually they will have "plc" or something like that on the sender's name if it's actually from HSBC, so look out for that.
