Scammers are creating fake Usain Bolt social media accounts, like the one below, and are using the same accounts to solicit donations from potential victims. The scammers do this by pretending to be the fastest man in the world and post fraudulent messages like the one below, which ask for donations to help a Jamaican mother find treatment for her sick son.

The fake Usain social media account and post should be a warning to online users that not everything online is real. And, this is why it is important that they do their research first, before sending money for donations or for other causes.

Scammers know how compassionate people are, and will use that compassion to their advantage. They know people will quickly donate without thinking when the donation is for the less fortunate or needy, especially when they are asked to do so by a celebrity like Usain Bolt.
