"Global Fund Program" Text Message Scams

Global Fund Program Text Message Scams

My name is Evangelin. I've been getting text messages from this strange number 914-487-3378, claiming to be my ex-husband. The text message(SMS), which appears to come from my ex-husband, asked if I have received my check from the Global Fund Program. I asked why I would get a check from them. He stated that he saw my name on the list of Global Fund Program and that he received his check in the amount of $150,000.

Of course, I was curious until they wanted me to send the following information: name, full address, zip code, marital status, occupation, age, m/f, email address and monthly income.

I decided to call my ex-husband to ask about this. He said that he never texted anyone and that I was the fourth person to call him about this. The man who contacted me from 914-487-3378 said his name is John Conrad. I hope that something can be done about this. I'm just glad that I called my ex-husband, else I probably would have been scammed by those scammers.

I also today just got a message from a messenger who I thought was my brother-in-law so I called him and he said he did not send any messages to me about the "Global Grant Fund". The cell # did not match my brother-in-laws #. Anyway just want to report the phone # of this "low life phishing scum bag" #970-251-9359

I was asked to claim my $65,000 by texting 202-540-0667 because my name
was on the list of recipients. I never submitted my name to any Global
Fund Program.
