"MSN Security Team Alert Attempts to Login to Your Account From Unrecognized Devices" Phishing Scam
an anonymous user from: Burlington, Ontario, Canada

Had several full screen messages that advised to shut down my PC as MSN encountered a problem. On the last one I contacted the 1-800 number and the fellow who answered advised that my PC identity was compromised and would have to be totally reviewed and the Rootkit removed and my Gateway Identity encrypted.
He advised that MSN utilize a firm and he would have them contact me, they are GEEK DIAL LLC of Las Vegas NV. 89119 The cost was $780.00 which I have not as yet paid, they also installed ABP and removed Norton.
My question is, have I been taken and if so should the above be paid and also can they do damage to my PC?
Thank You George.
