"WhatsApp Request to Transfer Your Number to Another Device" Scam
WhatsApp users who have received messages like the one below, which claim that a request to transfer their number to another device will be made within 24 hours, are asked not to follow the instructions in them. This is because the messages are being sent by online cyber crooks or thieves who are attempting to trick their potential victims into calling the fraudulent telephone number 902-394-1246, by claiming they need to do so if they did not make the fake transfer request.

We are not sure what the crooks or thieves will ask their potential victims to do after tricking them into calling the fake WhatsApp number. But, they may ask for credit card information and personal information, which they will use fraudulently.
Remember, WhatsApp will never ask their users to call a telepone number and request personal or financial information from them over the phone.
