The Thank You For Buying From Walmart Phishing Scam

Walmart customers who have received emails like the one below, which claim their accounts have been used to make an order, are asked not to click on the links in them. This is because cybercriminals are sending out fake and phishing Walmart emails to their potential victims claiming they have bought something from Walmart. The emails then claim the potential victims should click a link in the same email if they didn't make the order.

I just received one similar, and today is December 14, 2022. It takes the attention that the email address says no-reply@walmart.ca. When it reads @walmart.ca, it deceives almost anyone, thinking it is coming from Walmart.

Received via email: "Saw your online article about this phishing scam so thought I would send it along to let you know its still happening. This was sent a few days after I made an actual online Walmart purchase so I thought it was legit at first. Thankfully because of the broken English I realized it was fake and didn't click the link...but this is a tricky one!
