Scamming - Fraud
Scammers are calling potential victims from telephone number 0345 587 3533 pretending to be from HSBC. The scammers ask their potential victims for account credentials, personal and financial information. But, your bank will never ask for such information over the phone. Therefore, if you have received calls from 0345-587-3533 or other telephone numbers and the caller ask for sensitive information, hang up and call the organization the caller claims he/she is calling from directly.

Hi all just to confirm the letter and calls received from HSBC Business Review centre 03455873533 is not a scam. I received a reminder letter for a cheque I had not received due to being sent to and old address. I went to my local HSBC branch with my I.D And they was able to confirm letters and calls were genuine. I was then able to speak with the business review rep and arrange a direct payment which was a nice surprise. Anyone who receives a call or letter my advise would be to go your local branch with the letter or call customer service number from banks main website page. It’s not everyday the bank gives us bank our Money it would be a shame if we let them keep it.
Had them ring me a few times. Binned them off then rang hsbc. They didn't ring me. They have tried ringing back and I will be having some fun with them when they ring again. This is a scam.
I got one of the letters with a cheque attached but from M&S. Same phone number though. I did click the link but alarm bells rang when a strange pdf tried and failed to load which was when they were going to ask for bank details so I could have the money paid into my account online. Phew, close call.
I've just spoken to HSBC on the phone and I'm a previous account holder. They confirmed this letter and cheque is legitimate and they're sending them out after a review of their collections and recoveries teams.
Thanks! The other posts made me really nervous

I received a headed letter from HSBC with a cheque attached for £25. Claiming because " the quality of service that you received by our Collections and/or Recoveries team and we've identified that it did not meet the standard we would expect"Alarm bells started ringing cause.1) Don't use HSBC bank2) I've never received any calls/text/letters from HSBC3) HSBC logo is different in colour from the headed top and the logo on the cheque.4) 0345 587 3533 on letter, doesn't relate to HSBC no# on any search engine.5) The lines are open 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. That wouldn't be the case if genuinely HSBC.6) the address on the back of the letter says Business Review Centre, Redcliff Quay,120 Radcliff Street,BRISTOL,BS1 6HU, isn't HSBC address but HSBC(LIFE,life insurance)
So, is this letter a scam?
