Cybercriminals are sending out thousands of fake "Your Amazon Prime Membership is Set to Renew" emails like the one below. Therefore, recipients are asked not to click on the links in these emails because they will be taken to a fake Amazon website. On the fake website, visitors will be asked to sign-in with their Amazon account credentials. And, if they do, their account credentials will be sent to the cybercriminals behind the fake emails.
This is why Amazon customers asked to go directly to www.amazon.com and sign in to their account from there, instead of clicking on a link that may take them to a phishing website.
For Amazon customers who have already been tricked by the scam, it is recommended that they change their password immediately before their accounts are hijacked and used fraudulently.

Just received an Amazon Prime phone scam indicating that my bank account was going to be charged $399 if I didn't press 1 now to speak to someone in order to not be charged. They said if you hang up, your bank account would be charged immediately but if you pressed 1 someone would be able to help you with not renewing my Amazon prime account and therefore would not be charged the $399. Don't hang up, just press 1! They were very demanding. the call came from 902-613-6462 and I have a 780# Jodi

just placed a order on prime and received the said email that means either my computer is infected with something watching my browser else there is a mole at Amazon
To check your Amazon Prime membership, do the following:Go to www.amazon.com and sign into your account.Click the "Your Account" link on the top of any Amazon page.Click the "Manage Prime Membership," "Manage Mom Membership" or "Manage Student Membership" link in the "Settings" section.Review the membership information on the page.
