Is Neobosen a Scam? Review of the Online Store

Neobosen located at neobosen.com is a fake online store claiming to sell Bandanas and facemasks. Online shoppers run the risk of receiving counterfeit goods or nothing at all from the same store. Unsatisfied online users who have shopped on the untrustworthy website are asked to contact their bank or financial institution to have their transactions canceled and money refunded.

Neobosen = terrible company, terrible product.

I bought two of their masks with valves. The valves stuck open on both masks! I originally asked to discount which clearly shows the third item ordered gets 30% discount: not it doesn't, when I complained they said that the discount only applies to the lowest priced item: no it doesn't, they advertise incorrectly. This is a bate and switch scam.

When the masks came, anyone with a modicum of sense could see they are nothing short of dangerous at best, and deadly at worst. The exhale valve stuck open on both masks that I bought.

Do not buy from this company. SCAM/FRAUD.

I ordered a few products on September 22. It is now October 10th and still waiting. Not only for the products but for a response to my email asking the status of the order! I will give it a couple of more weeks because I know the stuff is coming out of country. However a response from them would be nice! I will keep posted.

After reading that it might be a scam, I called my credit card company to stop payment; but couldn't until it posted. I later decided to see if/what would arrive. It took about 2.5 weeks, but everything I ordered did arrive. I am actually quite pleased with their quality. Double-sewn edges, adjustable ear loops, inner pouch for removable filter (they supplied two). It fits my face quite well and is comfortable to wear. For me, I am pleased with my order. Neobosen may just be a small company new to the Int'l marketplace.

Everytime I contact them through live chat it's all good, until they send me to a shipping company website (all in Chinese) which reports no record of the tracking number. When you're checking this URL, they cut off the zendesk live chat and disable the live chat for your IP address. You can't bring up live chat again. I did this through a couple of browsers and then tried on my phone - I got through again and went through the "just checking it will take some seconds", they give me the link then again terminate the chat and disable the ability to reconnect. Definitely dodgy. Avoid.

I am afraid to continue my checkout with neobosen.com, because at the very end they say they are going to keep your card on file until they might need it again. There is no way to say, no to that. Basically, if you want their product, but have to leave your card information with them. Even though I really wanted the product they advertised, I just don't trust that.

I place an order 2 week ago they sent me an e-mail said that my order has been shipped have not see it yet. This is a fraud please people do not order from them I will report it to police

Pay the safest way

Credit cards are the safest way to pay for online purchases because you can dispute the charges if you never get the goods or services or if the offer was misrepresented. Hang up the phone. Do not reply to emails, messages, or letters that the scammer sends. Do not make any more payments to the scammer. Beware of additional scammers who may contact you claiming they can help you get your lost money back.

Secure Your Finances

  • Report potentially compromised bank account, credit or debit card information to your financial institution(s) immediately. They may be able to cancel or reverse fraudulent transactions.
  • Notify the three major credit bureaus. They can add a fraud alert to warn potential credit grantors that you may be a victim of identity theft. You may also want to consider placing a free security freeze on your credit report. Doing so prevents lenders and others from accessing your credit report entirely, which will prevent them from extending credit:

If your computer was accessed or otherwise affected by a scam, check to make sure that your anti-virus is up-to-date and running and that your system is free of malware and keylogging software.   • Identitytheft.gov: If someone is using your personal information, like your Social Security, credit card, or bank account number, to open new accounts, make purchases, or get a tax refund, report it at www.identitytheft.gov. This federal government site will also help you create your Identity Theft Report and a personal recovery plan based on your situation. Questions can be directed to 877-ID THEFT.

Phishing emails and text messages often tell a story to trick you into clicking on a link or opening an attachment. You might get an unexpected email or text message that looks like it’s from a company you know or trust, like a bank or a credit card or utility company. Or maybe it’s from an online payment website or app. The message could be from a scammer, who might

  • say they’ve noticed some suspicious activity or log-in attempts — they haven’t
  • claim there’s a problem with your account or your payment information — there isn’t
  • say you need to confirm some personal or financial information — you don’t
  • include an invoice you don’t recognize — it’s fake
