The fake number is being used by cybercriminals to trick potential victims into giving cybercriminals access to their computers. If the fake technical support telephone number is called, the cybercriminals on the other end will pretend to be a technical support representative from Microsoft. The cybercriminals will instruct their potential victims into giving them access to their computer and ask for personal and financial information.
