1800943512 Scam Amazon Texts - Fake Order Confirmation and Helpline

Scammers are asking potential victims to call +61-1800943512, a fake Amazon customer helpline, by sending them fake order confirmation text messages like the ones below. The fake text messages claim the recipients purchased a Canon EOS R6 Camera, Lenovo Intel core i9 Touch Laptop, and other electronic products from Amazon.

From: 0421 730 976

Order Confirmed #1016512VN117 $3969.99 against Canon EOS R6 Camera at AMZ on 2021-04-12. Helpline (+61)1800943512 for any dispute ,Thank you"

"You paid $1969.00 against Lenovo Intel core i9 Touch Laptop at AMZ. 0rder# 140GJ21JV0 on 2021-04-12. Customer helpline +61-1800943512 If you have any dispute."

The aim of the scammers is to frighten their potential victims into calling them at +61-1800 943 509, a fake Amazon customer service helpline. If the scammers are contacted, they will attempt to trick their potential victims into giving them their account credentials, personal and financial information. If the requested information is given to the scammers, it will be used fraudulently.

I am from Melbourne and I received a similar txt message on 17 Apr 2021. Same Canon camera but Amazon only charged me $2149.99. Amazon order no was different. The 1800943512 for disputes was the same as the comment from Norwest Sydney.

Have forwarded the sms to 0429 999 888.
