Duke Energy Scam Calls - How to Protect Yourself

Duke Energy customers have reported receiving scam calls where the scammers pretended as if they are representatives from the power company. The scammers claim potential victims owe money and that payment is required or else their power will be turned off. They then attempt to trick potential victims into giving them personal and financial information. They may also ask potential victims to pay via prepaid debit card or wire transfer.
