It appears some online users are receiving scam text messages from 8285169712 or asked to call the same telephone number regarding their online banking. The scammers may call or send texts from other 828 area code telephone numbers. If you have received a text or call from 828-516-9712 or other 828 area code telephone numbers regarding your banking or online account, please contact your bank directly instead of following the instructions in the text or call.

2 emails stating I purchased $600 for bitcoin through pay pal from 828 area code and 845 area code. Confirm or deny purchase by calling their number.

My scam text asked if I spent over $100 from my Bank of America account at Exxon. told me to call 828-759-5511 and gave me an ID number
Just got text saying my debit card is locked.

Just received one of these myself. The number was not one I knew of for my bank so I searched online to see what it pulled up. Thank you for having info online that this is a scam.

Received a text. Wanted me to call this number for online banking blocked. I do not have online banking.. Suspected it was a scam or potential fraud. 10/11/2022 No online banking which proves it is a scam!
