Amazon Prime Scam Calls Bank Card Used to Make Purchase

Scammers are using automated dialer software to contact potential victims from different telephone numbers. The automated dialer will claim that the potential victims' bank card had been used to make a purchase from Amazon and an international bank transfer. Potential victims will be instructed to press 1 to cancel and 2 to speak to an advisor. But, pressing 1 or 2 will connect potential victims the scammers will pretend to be representatives from their banks or Amazon Prime.

"Two amounts of £300 for Amazon and a further £1000 for a payee which was unusual for your account. Press 1 to cancel and 2 to speak to an advisor."

Once contacted, the scammers will attempt to trick their potential victims into giving them their personal and credit card information, which they will use fraudulently. Therefore, persons who have been tricked into disclosing their credit card information to the scammers are asked to contact their bank immediately for help.
