Scamming - Fraud
Scammers are sending the fraudulent HSBC text message below asking potential victims to call them at this fake HSBC customer support telephone number: 0330 220 4419. The fraudulent text message claims a payment of £850 was made from their accounts and if it wasn't them, they should call 0330-220-4419. But calling the same telephone number will connect potential victims to the scammers behind the fraudulent text.

If contacted, the scammers will pretend to be from HSBC and attempt to trick their potential victims into disclosing their account credentials, personal and financial information, which they will use fraudulently. Therefore, if you were tricked by the fraudulent text scam, please contact HSBC at their legitimate customer support telephone number for help.

Call 03302204419When I called the 0330... number, and said I didn't recognise the purchase, but how could I be sure he was a genuine Santander rep and it wasn't a scam call, the man mumbled something about authorising the number but when I said I need to be sure this is genuine, he said "Then ring the number on the back of your card" and cut me off abruptly! Not sure a genuine bank would have been so abrupt"

This happened to us however the number used was the same apart from the very last number which was a 7.
My HSBC code number etc. Would be very hard for me as I don't use HSBC. TOTAL SCAM.
