There are scammers taking people's Facebook account images and posing as potential buyers. They will request payID then send you an email or chat message saying the money has been sent but an error has occurred and demand you send the money back out of your bank account, even though you cannot see the money transferred into it. Another one is they make an excuse they have work commitments and will send a GLS Express service to bring the money and take the goods, but once again they want payID and a FAKE GLS company. They will send you an email asking you to pay insurance for the loss of the item, but these GLS SERVICES are fakes, therefore, do not send any money from your bank account.

Everything what you write happened to me they also said that if I don't pay I'll go to jail. Also they txt that can be some unexpected visitor to my place.

Hang up the phone. Do not reply to emails, messages, or letters that the scammer sends. Do not make any more payments to the scammer. Beware of additional scammers who may contact you claiming they can help you get your lost money back.

Secure Your Finances

  • Report potentially compromised bank account, credit or debit card information to your financial institution(s) immediately. They may be able to cancel or reverse fraudulent transactions.
  • Notify the three major credit bureaus. They can add a fraud alert to warn potential credit grantors that you may be a victim of identity theft. You may also want to consider placing a free security freeze on your credit report.
