BBB emailed the Blue Rocket SEO to obtain more information about its services and ascertain its physical location as corporate registration for the company with the Texas Secretary of State could not be verified. The current address listed in Houston, TX is a post office box rather than a physical location. On March 4, 2018, the business began responding to complaints stating the following:
"Recently we moved our billing systems from a manual back office process to an automated ERP/Billing system called Microsoft Dymaics AX. In the process we hired a firm to help us move our data from one system to another in the process our list of leads that we purchased from a third-party vendor was mixed with our list of clients. When our new ERP system was implemented the system generated new invoices for our clients. In doing so about 50 invoices were generated that were not for active clients but rather leads that we were planning on prospecting. These invoices were generated in error, and they have reached out to every single company and organization explaining what happened and ensuring that there was no charge as no services were rendered. Again, our apologies we are actively working with our marketing department and IT department to ensure this does not happen in the future."
If you received an invoice, do not rush to pay it. Investigate the invoice and if you are not aware of it, do not pay it. Scammers know some people or companies will readily pay an invoice without due diligence.
