8664974781 BoA Transaction Text - 866-497-4781

I received the BoA Helpline text message below from 22395 claiming I should use the code in it to approve a wire transaction for a purchase at Flloyds Inc. The text then claims I should call BoA helpline or customer service at 866-497-4781 if I did not authorize the transaction. I know this text is a scam because I do not have a Bank of America account and the telephone number does not appear to belong to BOA.

866 497 4781 is a total scam. The number does not even belong to BOA. Call your bank if you use BOA and report this phone number.

I received the following text from 22395 on 8/28/23 - 10:26 am pst.

"Use code 300098 to approve your wire transaction of $ 3238.77 to Linda from your account, if not you call BOA helpline at 8664974781"

I immediately searched the phone # to see if it belongs to BofA & saw these scam posts.

I do have a credit account with this bank, but not a bank account.

It is getting ridiculous with people always trying to s***w others. We are all struggling to make ends meet...but have some integrity and do it honestly!

They used short code 22395 which in my message history has several legitimate verifications from places such as principal financial, coin base, airbnb, etc... so it makes the scam seem even more legit if you hold onto old messages. I received this one a few moments ago:
