A Beginner’s Guide to Kingshot

Kingshot is a new strategy survival mobile game that has gained the interest of many new players. As a powerful monarch, you take charge of your own kingdom in a fantasy world. However, you’re competing against many rival players and territories. You must build and strengthen your armies of Heroes to defend your kingdom, and defeat your rivals to climb the ranks. But how do you master Kingshot’s PvP and PvE?

📚The Basics

Kingshot combines the elements of popular survival, strategy, and tower defense games into one. The main goal is to not only create a strong kingdom, but defend yourself against raiding players with precise actions. Even when not participating in PvP, having smart strategies and strong Heroes are necessary to complete the main campaign, and earn its rewards along the way. Every shot from a tower’s distance, wind speed, and angle is taken into account when shot at an enemy. This makes precision essential in practicing for the long run. Before upgrading a bunch of towers and Heroes, just try making sure your shots land. This allows you to learn the basic combat, and notice which you’d prefer to upgrade first.

Similar to other strategy, civilization-building games, you’re limited to a certain number of construction workers to create and upgrade core buildings. This makes planning out your upgrades important. There’s buildings like the Clinic and Hero’s Hall that can heal and spawn armies. There’s even Sawmills and Quarries to help gain more materials at a time. However, you should focus on upgrading your Town Center as soon and as much as possible. Doing so will unlock more features quickly over time, making your base stronger.

💥The ‘Suppress’ & Tower Defense Modes

There are two main game modes in Kingshot, being Suppress and the Tower Defense. In Suppress, you’re in a turn-based mode where up to 6 Heroes are deployed. These Heroes will progress through stages of enemies. The further you go, the more rewards you earn for your kingdom. However, the stages become harder the longer you last, but the materials earned become rarer and more plentiful.

To succeed at Suppress, you must consider your strongest Heroes. When new to Kingshot, your Hero’s Hall and Hero abilities aren’t going to be as level out. However, it’s still recommended to play Suppress anyways for those crucial special materials. This’ll not only help your Heroes level up, but give you a good taste at the gameplay.

As for the Tower Defense mode, its a lot more unique from what you might think. Instead of a top-down viewed game of placing towers, you’re controlling a single character in a 3D level. In this state, you must gather enough materials to place down towers. The more towers and upgrades you make, the more likely you’ll last through the fight. Win the defense and you’ll unlock rewards through special quests and bonuses.

To succeed in Tower Defense, the towers themselves shouldn’t be the only thing focused on. You can also deploy troops such as Barbarians, Archers, Marksman, and others. When the game prolongs itself, more and more enemy troops will bombard into your base. By having a good balance of troops and towers, the troops can hold the enemies back with counterattacks while your towers keep defending.

🗡️Quests & Growth Missions

Since Kingshot is a live-service game, it gains updates all the time, including new quests with rewards. This makes logging into your account daily essential for growing your kingdom. You don’t want to miss out on any of the rotating questlines, as you can get exclusive quests too. Besides these seasonal quests, though, there’s also the basic campaign. The campaign quests should be your first priority when starting out, as you’ll progress much faster through the game this way.

Then there are the growth missions. These work as a ‘daily’ system in Kingshot, as they reset every day. However, you can claim a set of growth missions that last for 5 days consecutively. Each part unlocks more rewards as long as you complete the quests within the set time frame. Most of the missions are pretty simple which makes it easy to gather extra materials no matter how far into the game you are.

👑The Hero’s Hall

Finally, we come to the Hero’s Hall, which is arguably the most important mechanic in Kingshot. In the Hero Hall, you can purchase new Heroes and train your existing ones. This is where the gacha system comes into play, as there are two permanent banners. In those banners, Advanced and Epic recruitments, you’ll be using Platinum and Gold keys to pull. You can use either a single or ten keys at a time.

Through the Hero Hall gacha, you can get new Hero fragments through sheer luck or from the pity system. You can only get Legendary ranked Heroes and fragments through the Epic banner, so you’ll want to focus there. The more times you pull, the more rewards you get in the end. Eventually, you’ll earn a Mythical chest for more fragments and premium materials.
