These are fraudulent phone calls that can appear as if they are coming from a Sheriff's Office phone number (spoof the number), emails, or texts that threaten people with arrest or fines if they don't appear for jury duty. The goal of these scams is to obtain personal information or money.

- Don't provide any requested information
- Hang up immediately
- Don't meet the caller in person

- You are in contempt of court
- You have an arrest warrant
- You need to pay a fine or bond
How scammers may operate
- Pretend to be a court official, police officer, or U.S. marshal--Use real names of law enforcement officials, court officials, and federal judges
- Spoof the phone number to appear to be from a court or government agency
