Protect Yourself

  • Common Scam Tactic: A call or message claims your account is compromised and insists you call back immediately.
  • Spot the Fraud: Official Apple support will not ask for your password, device passcode, or two-factor authentication codes.
  • Verify Directly: If you receive a suspicious alert, hang up and contact Apple directly through their official website or the Support app.
  • Report It: Report fraudulent emails to reportphishing@apple.com and calls to the FTC.

What Scammers Want

  • Your Apple ID password or verification codes.
  • Remote access to your computer.
  • Payment via Apple Gift Cards, which are never used for legitimate, urgent service issues.

If you have already provided information, change your Apple ID password immediately and contact your bank if financial details were shared.
