A rising wave of "Apple Pay transaction text scams" is targeting users with fraudulent messages claiming a high-value, unauthorized, or "suspended" Apple Pay transaction has occurred. The goal of these scams is to panic users into calling a fake support number or clicking a link to a phishing website to steal personal information, Apple ID credentials, or bank details.
The Apple Pay Scam Text

The scam asks recipients to call telephone number 1-833-678-6002, which is not a Apple Support telephone number. The number is instead linked to a call center linked to scammers pretending to be Apple Support representatives.
If You Were Scammed
If you shared credentials or lost money, immediately change your Apple ID password, report the transaction in the Wallet app, call your bank, and report the scam to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
