WSDOT Scam Text Message

WSDOT (Washington State Department of Transportation) warns of a widespread phishing scam ("smishing") where fraudulent text messages claim you have an unpaid toll bill, urging immediate payment via a link to a fake website. These are not legitimate. Good To Go! does not send text messages requesting payment. Do not click links or provide personal/financial information.

WSDOT Scam Texts

  • The Content: Texts often claim you have an outstanding toll amount, threaten fees, or claim it is a final notice to cause panic.
  • The Fake Link: They direct you to a realistic-looking fake website designed to steal credit card numbers, banking info, and personal data.
  • The Truth: Good To Go! never sends text messages asking for payment and does not use phone numbers to solicit billing information.
  • What to Do: If you receive a text, do not click the link, delete it, and block the sender.
  • How to Verify: Only access your account via the official website: MyGoodToGo.com.
  • Reporting: File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at ReportFraud.ftc.gov or the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at www.ic3.gov.
