Cybercriminals are currently targeting Apple Store users with an email that contains a malicious attachment and link, which appeared as if it came from Apple. If you open the malicious attachment, your computer will become infected with a malicious computer program called a Trojan horse. Or, if you click on the link, you will be taken to a malicious or compromised website that will attempt to infect your computer with malwares, by checking your computer for vulnerabilities.

If you receive a copy of this email message, whatever you do, please do not open the attachment, click on the link or follow any instructions in this same message.

The malicious attachment name is "Apple gift card.exe".

When we scanned this attachment, the following malwares were found:

  • Trojan.Email.FW
