The email message below with the subject: "Virus Email: Shipping Information for," has a link to a malicious file that will infect your Windows computer if you open it. Shipping Details

The link in the email message will go to the following website address or location and download the malicious file "Shipping _5180.PDF.scr":

  • https://copy.com/QQQ4UreFTgau/Shipping _5180.PDF.scr?download=1

We found the following threats after scanning the malicious file:

  • Troj.W32.Gen
  • Win.Trojan.Agent-797093
  • BehavesLike.Win32.Backdoor.gc
  • Trojan.Script.Heuristic-js.iacgm

The cybercriminals behind these malicious email messages aims are to trick the curious recipients into opening the malicious attachment, which will infect their computers with a virus or Trojan horse.

Once your computer has become infected with this malicious Trojan horse, the cybercriminals behind this email message will be able to access and take control of your computer remotely from anywhere around the world. They may spy on you, use your computer to commit cybercrimes, or steal your personal and financial information.

    I have now received this email scam twice (1st time last week, 2nd time today). I opened the email only to read it in my earthlink browser, but absolutely did not click on the "INVOICE" link within it, so I assume I am ok, correct? Thanks
