Fake and Virus Thanksgiving Day Target Email - Thank you for buying from Target.com

The email message below with the subject: "Acceptance of Order," "Details of your order from Target.com" or "Thank you for buying from Target.com" has a link that goes to a malicious website that will download a malicious file onto your computer. The malicious file will infect your Windows computer if you open it. The fake and malicious message was created by cyber-criminals to trick the recipients into clicking on the link by claiming that they need to do so in order to view the order that they have made.

Subject: Acceptance of Order, Details of your order from Target.com, Thank you for buying from Target.com

As Thanksgiving nears we want to advise you that our online shop has an order addressed to you.

You may pick it in any store of Target.com closest to you within four days.

Please, open the link for full order information.

Happy Thanksgiving,

If you open the malicious file, your computer will become infected with a Trojan horse. Once your computer has become infected with the malicious Trojan horse, the cybercriminals behind the email message will be able to access and take control of your computer remotely from anywhere around the world. They may spy on you, use your computer to commit cybercrimes, or steal your personal and financial information.

Now, if you have already opened clicked on the link, downloaded and open the malicious file, please do a full scan of your computer with the antivirus software installed on it.

It is not a phishing scam, it is a trick to get you to infect your computer with a virus or Trojan horse.
So, please scan your computer with the antivirus software installed on it, just in case you unknowingly installed some malicious software.

Currently, it will not infect your IPad, but it is recommended that you do not click on the link regardless of the operating system or device that you are using.
This is because the cyber-criminals behind the email may modify the website to detect the type of device you are using and send the appropriate virus to infect it.
