Facebook will Charge 10p for Every Status  that you Post after the 18th of January

The message below, spreading on Facebook and other parts of the internet like wildfire, which claims that Facebook will be charging for every status update after the 18th of January, is a hoax. Facebook has always said that it will forever be free. A similar hoax a few years ago caused Facebook to place the message: "It’s free and always will be.", on their home page at www.facebook.com.

I am not one to post these things but after researching it I feel that we should all know the changes that The admins of Facebook will be implementing from 18th of January.

In order to keep your profile you will be asked to add details of payment card that Facebook promises will not be used as it is just a security measure but in fact they will be billing you 10p for every status date that you post after the 18th.in order to opt out of this proposal you need to make a status update that reads - "I will not pay for my voice to be heard"

We need to make sure that this money making scheme does not go ahead, copy and paste the above onto your own status

The pranksters may change the price in the hoax.

Facebook, will definitely always be free, because it makes billions of dollars per year from advertisements, viewed by its over one billion users. The company also states that its website will always be free, by displaying the message: "it's free and always will be", on their home page.

Help stop the spread of this hoax by not 'liking', sharing or commenting on it. Also, you may use the “Report Story or Spam" button, to report it to Facebook.
