    Received via email:

    "Hello

    I received the following email.

Thank you for informing us of this scam on your website. I just hope other elderly pensioners also realise this is a scam. It is unfortunate that it has a @humanservices.gov.au. address.

I wonder if the Australian Government should advertise these type of scams more widely on television as an advertisement, and in the newspapers...state and community. The scammers are becoming more and slicker in their deception.

Yes, some scams are exposed via the media and in the news but there needs to be a full-on advertising campaign to educate people who may be vulnerable. Perhaps there is and I have missed it.

    Regards

    Maureen Mulligan

After downloading Medicare Mobile app a couple of days ago, I suspected someone was 'watching' when I tried to use the app.. Deleted the app but had already given my MyGov username and password. Next thing, I received this scam email. Beware!

Received this today, Outlook flagged as spam, but the senders address was Australian Government Department of Human Services <msjh73@humanservices.gov.au> which made me want to investigate.

    Cheers for the heads up.

Have received this today... If you didn't know otherwise it looks very official other than the email address looks dodgy.

  • January 13, 2017 at 6:34 PM by an anonymous user from: Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

Received the said email this morning, looked very convincing initially, realised it was a scam because it asked for too much info etc.
