The NETSPARKER PayPal scam text below, which claims recipients made a payment and they should call 1-888-725-5109 to cancel, is being sent by scammers. The aim of the scam is to frighten and trick potential victims into calling the fake PayPal customer support telephone number.

If contacted, the scammers will pretend to be PayPal customer support representatives and attempt to trick potential victims into giving them their account credentials, personal and financial information.

If you were tricked into disclosing your account credentials or gave the scammers access to your computer, change your passwords. If you have disclosed your financial information, please contact your bank for help.

I received the same but it was from service-PayPal.com

That is a legitimate Pay Pay address. They used my name which is their protocol. The IP address said "Pay Pay" on Whois. What am I missing?

They put a request right to my Paypal with the same exact dollar amount. I removed everything from my PayPal. I had another incident with them earlier in the year and they refused to believe it wasn't my charge. The lady literally said no you did it when it was all the way on the other side of the state.

I got this scam today, Nov 30, 2022.

Seemingly, it was sent from a Dutch email address, service-paypal.nl, but with an English text explaining, and which claimed I ordered from NETSPARKER for an amount of $487. I never heard of this brand (it's an old name). The phone number mentioned to call is 1-866-273-5387.

I suspected a scam immediately and found this article to prove it. Thanks.

They will try to charge your PayPal even if you don’t contact them. Make sure you have confirmation set up on paying apps so they don’t go though right away
